In 2011, The Robert M. Rodrigues Fund was established to honor Robert Manuel Rodrigues, a teacher who knows that history is about the people who make it. A teacher who knows field trips and guest speakers are just as important as lectures and textbooks. A teacher who deserves a living tribute.
Robert Manuel Rodrigues, or Mr. Rod as his students call him, has been teaching history at Chartiers Valley High School (CVHS) since 1974. Over the years, Mr. Rod has inspired thousands of students to further their knowledge of the past and better their communities for the future.
Each year, The Robert M. Rodrigues Fund provides a “Good Citizenship” award ($500 in 2020) to a senior graduating from CVHS. Mr. Rod has dedicated his career to the CVHS community; now, it’s our turn to give back in his honor.
